These low-maintenance houseplants add lushness and color to any home without needing much from you other than occasional watering. Here in this post today I am, sharing 10 easy to grow and manage houseplants. So even if you do not have a green thumb you can easily manage these plants with moderate care.
Here is the list of 10 Easy to grow and manage houseplants
- Chinese evergreen- This is a lovely plant with leaves that have various shades of silver, grey, and green making it an attractive choice to grow in your house. You can easily find them in shopping malls, airports, restaurants due to their adaptable nature and durability as well. They usually need low to medium light and can be watered if the soil is dry to touch. One important thing to keep in mind all the parts of the plant are poisonous and can cause irritation on the lips, tongue, and throat if eaten or chewed by pets and children. Even we have this plant but as my son is small, we have kept it outside our main gate where my son doesn’t go.
- Norfolk Island Pine- This green and beautiful tree resembles a pine tree a lot and can add merriment, especially around Christmas to your house. These plants make wonderful houseplants. These plants love humid places to grow well. Keeping the humidity high around the tree will help it thrive. They love several hours of bright and direct light. We have kept these in our balcony where they get both direct and indirect light. Plus, I love to keep on shifting their places to ensure their needs are met.
- Snake Plant- Well, this is one of the most indestructible plants. Snake plant requires low light and can survive with less to no water for days at a stretch. There are various varieties of snake plants available in the nurseries. I love the golden snake plant a lot. And mind you they are a wonderful source of air purification in the house. You can easily keep these in your living room or bedroom as well and allow the soil surface to dry between watering.
- Money plants/ Philodendron- This is one is my utmost favorite plant and can be found in every shape and size in my house. From a small cup to a huge pot with a moss stick I have several of them growing in my house. These are very easy to maintain and look adorable with beautiful heart-shaped leaves. As I said they are absolutely easy to manage and can adapt to low light as well. Do allow the soil surface to dry between watering.
- English Ivy– English Ivy is also one beautiful house plant that looks amazing in hanging planters. It works well wherever you need a draping plant or it easily can be encouraged to climb support if you want a more upright look. All parts of this plant are poisonous if eaten or chewed. Always allow the soil to dry before every watering.
- ZZ plant- This is one of my yet another favorite plants. It doesn’t need any attention and care. All you need to do is avoid watering too much. You can water these plants once in 20 days and they won’t mind. Trust me 😊. The thick stems and leaves are so sturdy that you might even think they’re plastic. This plant is poisonous if eaten or chewed.
- Spider Plant- I have recently come across these beautiful plants that are quite common in many houses these days. Once the spider plant gets big enough, they start producing baby plants on the end of each long stem. Once the plants get big enough, they start producing baby plants on the ends of long stems. Some spider plants have plain green leaves while other varieties are variegated with cream or white stripes.
- Rubber tree- Well, I really wonder which plant is not my favorite. I love this one too for the beautiful and big maroon leaves it has. It also has a twin sister with variegated leaves. This plant also doesn’t need much care except take care of the watering. Too much and too little water both can cause the plant to whittle and leaves to droop. I recently had to replace my rubber plant with a new one as I unknowingly killed it due to overwater.
- Pothos- This low-maintenance houseplant is commonly called or devil’s ivy, and it can be a godsend for those who struggle to keep houseplants alive. It’s not fussy about how much light it gets (but yes, it does need some) and if you keep it in light for a while, it will quickly rebound when you do give it a drink. There are plain green ones as well as variegated varieties.
- Jade plant- If you think you do not have a green thumb and can kill a plant then this one just for you. Don’t worry just get a jade plant in your house. They are fuss-free plants and do not need much attention. These slow growers can survive without water for weeks and even months as they store what they need in their fleshy stems and leaves.
