In this ongoing pandemic situation, everything has changed drastically. From lifestyle to study routine, we all have gone through a lot during this outbreak period. The generation which went through the most changes was young children. They had to go through long hours of screentime while attending classes which affect their eyes the most.
It’s been difficult for almost 2 years to make sure kids are sitting in place to attend their online classes. Young kids have a short attention span and don’t want to really sit in front of computers for the classes as they get easily bored. My elder one would often complain about how she doesn’t want to attend online classes anymore. In order to keep their interest alive for online sessions, we started looking out for ways to make online screentime useful and entertaining as well for my kids.
While screentime cannot be avoided much finding alternate solutions is the best thing we parents can do. And thus, I found an alternative solution for this problem in educational online games. Online educational games seem like a wonderful way to engage kids in positive screentime and also ensure they get some downtime from studies. These games not only help in keeping children innovatively attracted towards studies but also make their game-playing habit a helpful one.
Educational online games are an excellent way to develop the foundational arithmetic and verbal abilities that are required in today’s primary school curriculum. Recently while looking for online educational games, I came across plays.org online educational games. They have a host of categories and games available to choose from that will also help develop great learning skills.
Some of the educational online games you can allow your kids to play on plays.org are as follows:
Learn with the smurfs: Learn with smurf is an online educational minigame focused on letters and numbers. The character smurf adds an element of fun learning for kids. It helps children learn basic counting, addition and subtractions and lowercase print and cursive letters. Children and parents can play this letter and number together and make it a fun time learning and bonding as well. It has no adult content and parents need not worry about children getting exposed to the wrong content. Piano for kids with animal sounds: This adorable animal-themed virtual piano simulator for children includes seven animal sounds and three instrument sounds. With a classical piano sound, you can play the 8 fundamental major keys. Kids will love adjusting the sound mode to hear notes from a bird, chick, horse, monkey, dog, cat, insect, duck, and cattle, among other animals. They may even switch to other instruments like guitars or the pipe organ. This will help your kid learn the sounds of various animals in a new way.
Guardians Defenders of Mathematica: Players must select a math category and answer ten questions to fight magical monsters, witches, dwarves, or dragons in this fantasy math practice game. There are 16 divisions to pick from, including a mixed math section that contains any mathematical topic at whim. As you advance through the game, the questions become more difficult. It’s an ideal game for students looking to practice their mathematical skills. Timing your game helps you challenge your own brainpower so try it on today. Well, I tried the time’s table trial and couldn’t finish the answer in 10 seconds for a few. So it was fun for me as a mother too. Instruments for Kids: This is a music training and learning game designed for kindergarten and elementary children. Virtual instrumentation such as basic piano, a drummer set, a xylophone, and a stringed instrument is available for children to use. Basic do-re-mi or working in collaboration note designations are written on the keyboard and xylophone keys. Every moment a key or chord is struck, the keys pop with lights, notes, and beautiful colours. While kids learn how to play songs, kids can also try the music maker application to compose their own songs. It’s a cute and whimsical instrument simulator that kids will love. Coffee Shop Business Game: This is a coffee cart combat simulator in which you strive to make as much money as possible in the two weeks that you have to operate Cafe Calypso. Check the weather, acquire supplies, tweak your recipes, and modify rates as needed to maximize profits while maintaining client satisfaction.
CalcuDocu Game: This is a logic puzzle game inspired by sudoku in which you must fill spaces with the correct number inside the time restriction. The numbers are dependent on the number of boxes in the grid; for illustration, 1 to 4 are the numerals. To achieve the right result, each set of coloured boxes must be computed depending on the number and operator. Subtraction, multiplication, addition, and division are all possibilities. For each riddle, there is only one solution. If you don’t finish the problem before the timer runs out, you lose.
